Sharjah 24 – WAM: Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs and Chair of the Board of Trustees of Erth Zayed Philanthropies, has approved a contribution of AED100 million to the Mother of the Nation Endowment for Orphans.

The initiative is launched by the Endowments and Minors’ Funds Authority – Awqaf Abu Dhabi, under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Strengthening the culture of giving

The contribution reinforces the philanthropic legacy established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and highlights the UAE’s global leadership in humanitarian work. Sheikh Theyab emphasised that the endowment reflects the values of compassion, dignity, and social solidarity championed by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak. He highlighted the UAE’s ongoing commitment to sustainable giving and collective responsibility toward supporting orphans.

Building a sustainable platform for orphan care

The initiative aims to establish a long-term endowment (waqf) platform dedicated to orphan care across the UAE. It ensures access to education, healthcare, and social empowerment programs, improving the quality of life and future opportunities for orphans.

Ensuring accountability and impact

Funds will be managed through an approved endowment mechanism overseen by Awqaf Abu Dhabi, guaranteeing sustainability and allocation to programs with measurable social impact. This approach reflects the UAE’s commitment to using endowments as a pillar of sustainable development and community solidarity.

Supporting national priorities

The contribution aligns with Erth Zayed Philanthropies’ mission to back initiatives focused on family and childhood, strengthening community partnerships and supporting the most vulnerable members of society.
