UAE air defences intercept 12 ballistic missiles, 123 drones

The Ministry stated that since the start of the blatant Iranian aggression, 186 ballistic missiles have been detected, of which 172 were destroyed, 13 fell into the sea, and one fell on UAE territory. A total of 812 Iranian drones were also detected, with 755 intercepted and 57 falling within the country. Eight cruise missiles were detected and destroyed. The attacks resulted in some collateral damage, three fatalities of Pakistani, Nepalese, and Bangladeshi nationality, and 68 minor injuries among various nationalities.

The Ministry confirmed that the sounds heard in different areas were caused by interceptions by air defence systems and fighter jets, which led to minor to moderate material damage to some civilian properties.

It strongly condemned the attacks as a blatant act of aggression and a violation of national sovereignty and international law, affirming the UAE’s full right to respond and take all necessary measures to protect its territory and people.

The Ministry reiterated its readiness to address any threats and urged the public to rely on official sources and avoid spreading rumours.
