Al Bataeh Municipality boosts response to weather conditions

Sharjah24: In collaboration with local entities, Al Bataeh Municipality has ramped up its efforts to manage the unstable weather conditions impacting the UAE, deploying emergency teams, equipment, and machinery across streets, public squares, and residential areas to clear accumulated rainwater and ensure public safety.

His Excellency Abdullah Sultan bin Salooma Al Ketbi, Director of Al Bataeh Municipality, confirmed that the municipality successfully executed its response plan through extensive field operations and coordination with government entities, ensuring smooth traffic flow and community safety.

He observed that emergency teams and equipment were strategically placed across key areas, including vital roads and residential neighbourhoods, to control water build-up and ensure accessibility.

Rapid field operations and preventive measures

Al Ketbi explained that the municipality implemented a comprehensive plan involving the deployment of heavy machinery and suction tankers to remove water immediately upon accumulation, preventing traffic disruption and ensuring safe road conditions.

Additional measures involved disinfecting and treating water-accumulated areas to prevent mosquito breeding and safeguard public health.

Community cooperation praised

The Director appreciated residents for their awareness and cooperation, emphasising their role in reporting water-accumulated locations and following safety guidelines during rainy weather.
