Al Batayeh celebrates the 54th Eid Al Etihad

Sharjah 24: Al Batayeh area celebrated the 54th Eid Al Etihad (Union Day) in a way that united all segments of the community. People of all ages came together in a harmonious celebration that expressed pride, appreciation for heritage, gratitude for the present, and hope for the future, values that all citizens and residents of the UAE actively contribute to building and envisioning.

People from all around the area gathered during the 54th Eid Al Etihad celebrations a diverse array of activities that took into account the cultural, historical, and civilisational significance of the region.

Special activities and programmes

The celebrations kicked off at Al Batayeh Public Park on November 27 and concluded Saturday. The events included the Union Parade, which featured various government departments and entities, dignitaries, local residents, schools, scout groups, and the Sharjah Scout Commission. Additionally, there was a military band, folk performance groups, horse shows, classic cars, and tourist buses, all of which reflected the heritage of the Emirati community.

The celebrations at Al Batayeh Public Park featured several activities, shows, and programmes over the course of the event days. These included handicrafts, displays by productive families, poetry segments, the Razfa performance, fireworks, folkloric presentations from popular heritage, and national artistic showcases that recalled the nation's glories. The program also featured national poems, whose words and rhythms were composed with sincere love for the UAE, its leadership, its people, and its residents.
Fostering sense of loyalty

Special programmes were dedicated to children and youth, and also included family-focused segments aimed at fostering a sense of loyalty and belonging among all participants. These activities included a magician show, a children's Yola competition, heritage dress segments for girls, number draw contests, and competitions for senior citizens.

Emirati heritage held a significant presence in Al Batayeh’s 54th Eid Al Etihad celebrations, with diligent efforts made to revive and showcase ancestral traditions, in line with the belief that heritage is the essence of progress.
