SEWA 25 street lighting projects in Central Region in 2025

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) completed 25 street and road lighting projects across various cities, towns, and communities in the Central Region during 2025, with a total cost exceeding AED 20.014 million. The projects included the installation of 1,936 lighting poles, 3,370 floodlights, and 74,181 metres of cabling.

Lighting projects in Al Dhaid

Engineer Khalifa Mohammed Al Teneiji, Director of the Central Region at SEWA, stated that the lighting projects implemented in the Central Region in 2025 included 13 projects in Al Dhaid. These projects included the replacement of floodlights on Jabel Omar and the internal roads of the Jabel Omar community, as well as lighting the camel racetrack in Al Dhaid. They also involved lighting the internal roads in Al Hisn-2 community, completing and illuminating the roads in Al Swaaih-2 community, and lighting Al Kharous community, phase two.

Additional works in Al Dhaid involved replacing floodlights in Tayibah community, lighting the internal roads of Suhailah community and the main road leading to it, illuminating the internal roads of Tal Al Zaafran community, phase two, and lighting the service roads near Al Swaaih community.

Projects in Al Bataeh, Mleiha, and Al Madam

In Al Bataeh, five projects were carried out, including lighting in the Al Bataeh Industrial Area and the road leading to Friday Market. The projects also included replacing floodlights in Al Bataeh Society parking, replacing floodlights at the entrance of Tuway Al Saman community, and illuminating the internal roads of Tuway Al Saman community.

In Mleiha, three projects were implemented, which included lighting the internal roads of cattle farms. In Al Madam, two projects were executed: the development of lighting at Al Madad border checkpoint and the replacement of solar lighting poles in Al Thaqeebah community. In addition, four lighting projects were carried out in Al Madam in accordance with the highest standards.
