Workshops led by empowered girls

The initiative saw active participation from the Foundation’s girls, who took part in production workshops where they carefully prepared the flags. These handcrafted flags were later presented to families during field visits to several homes, creating a humanitarian atmosphere marked by warmth, engagement, and heartfelt reactions. The Foundation also documented moments of raising the UAE flag at beneficiaries’ homes, with children participating in the ceremony. Her Excellency Mona bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation, stated that the initiative responds directly to the leadership’s guidance and reflects the organisation’s commitment to instilling national values through impactful, life-centred programmes that strengthen the bond between individuals and the nation.

She noted that the UAE flags distributed through the initiative were woven by the Foundation’s girls as part of a broader empowerment project designed to develop their skills while engaging them in initiatives of humanitarian and national significance.

She further added that raising the flag at families’ homes goes beyond symbolism, representing the nation’s presence in everyday life and reflecting the country’s resilience and strength. She also highlighted that the response from citizens and institutions exemplifies the spirit of social solidarity that defines the UAE.
