Sharjah 24: Sharqiya from Kalba Channel, part of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA), will have its programming lineup enhanced with a diverse range of programmes that blend heritage, dialogue, and educational elements. This expansion reflects the channel's ongoing commitment to strengthening its presence in the local and Arab media landscape and highlighting the unique character of the eastern region of the Emirate of Sharjah.

"Darb Al Sharqia"

At the forefront of these programmes is "Darb Al Sharqia" (The Eastern Trail), a field-based, conversational, and exploratory programme that takes viewers on a visual and human journey through the cities and regions of the Eastern Province. Hosted by journalist Khaled Al-Dhabit, each episode features a guest with a personal connection to the location. Together, they embark on a drive to a unique site, where personal stories intertwine with geography and history in a captivating cinematic visual format. This format utilises modern filming techniques, including aerial shots and interactive maps, enriching the viewer's experience both intellectually and visually. The programme airs every Saturday at 8:00 PM.

"Zill Al Samra"

April also sees the return of "Zill Al Samra" (The Shadow of the Acacia Tree) for its fourth season. This heritage programme continues its distinguished presence by hosting elders to discuss heritage topics related to the life, customs, and traditions of the Eastern Province. Presented by journalist Mohammed Al-Balushi, who is committed to conveying the popular heritage in a simple and accessible way, "Zill Al Samra" airs every Friday at 8:00 PM. In the field of education, the program "Ajyal" (Generations) returns to address educational issues at all levels, from kindergarten to university, highlighting challenges and opportunities and presenting models and experiences. An inspiring educational programme reflecting the development of this vital sector. The programme airs Mondays at 8:00 PM.

"Sailors' memories"

The "Sailors' Memories" programme has a humanistic documentary character, hosting sailors and elders to recount their experiences and stories related to life at sea. Its aim is to document maritime heritage and pass it on to new generations, preserving this authentic component of the region's identity. "Sailors' Memories" airs every Tuesday at 8:00 PM.

“The First Experience”

The programming lineup is further enhanced by "The First Experience," which highlights the early beginnings of public figures in various fields, showcasing the challenges and motivations that shaped their journeys. The content inspires and encourages young people to confidently embark on their own experiences. This programme airs every Thursday at 8:00 PM.

Providing high-quality content that expresses the identity of the Eastern Region

Ismail Issa Al Hosani, Director of Sharqiya from Kalba Channel, emphasised that the programmes added to the channel's programming schedule reflect a commitment to providing high-quality content that expresses the identity of the Eastern Region and resonates with its audience.
