Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD), along with its subsidiary, the Sharjah Foundation to Support Pioneering Entrepreneurs (RUWAD) is participating in the latest edition of the "Make it in the Emirates" Forum. This participation reflects their commitment to supporting the industrial sector, enhancing the investment environment, and empowering entrepreneurs and business owners to capitalise on the unique opportunities available in the UAE's industrial sector.

This participation aligns with the Emirate of Sharjah's vision to solidify its position as a hub for industrial investments, support the growth of national projects, and boost the competitiveness of local industries by providing flexible and attractive services to investors.

Supporting industrial development and creating a conducive environment for business growth

In this context, His Excellency Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Chairman of the Sharjah Economic Development Department and Member of the Executive Council of the Emirate, affirmed that the Department's participation in the Forum reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting industrial development and creating a conducive environment for business growth. He noted that the Forum represents an important national platform that brings together investors, entrepreneurs, and decision-makers under one umbrella to explore manufacturing and investment opportunities.

His Excellency stated, “Through our participation in the "Make it in the Emirates" Forum, we are committed to presenting practical and stimulating initiatives that contribute to accelerating the launch of new industrial projects and support the UAE’s drive towards a diversified, knowledge-based, and production-driven economy. We also believe that empowering investors and streamlining procedures are fundamental pillars for enhancing the competitiveness of the industrial sector in the Emirate of Sharjah.”

His Excellency added that the Department is launching a special initiative during the Forum, offering investors and entrepreneurs an exceptional opportunity to obtain an instant industrial license for only AED 1,000. This license covers all permitted industrial activities in the Emirate and will be available exclusively throughout the duration of the exhibition.

Building direct communication channels with leading international manufacturers

Sharjah Economic Development Department aims, through this participation, to build direct communication channels with leading international manufacturers and companies present at the Forum, to establish partnerships that contribute to transferring technology and knowledge to local factories. This will ensure improved quality for products bearing the “Make it in the Emirates” label and strengthen their presence in global markets.

The Chairman of the Sharjah Economic Development Department indicated that this step comes within the department's ongoing efforts to streamline procedures and stimulate industrial investments, thereby attracting more high-quality projects and opening new horizons for investors and entrepreneurs. He concluded by emphasising that facilitating the investor's journey, from obtaining a license to exporting the product, is a top priority that reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to build a strong, diversified, and sustainable economy.

During their participation in the forum, the Ruwad Foundation will showcase a range of services and initiatives supporting industrial and entrepreneurial projects, along with financing and consulting programmes and development solutions that contribute to the growth and sustainability of national projects.
