Sharjah24: Manchester United has put an end to months of speculation over Kobbie Mainoo's future by confirming the midfielder has signed a new contract, keeping him at Old Trafford until 2031.

The 21-year-old, who joined United's academy in 2014, has already made 98 appearances for the first team — a journey that has taken him from Carrington's training pitches to Wembley, where he scored the decisive goal in a 2-1 FA Cup final victory over fierce rivals Manchester City in 2024. That moment helped earn him a place in the England squad for Euro 2024 that same summer.

Mainoo did not hold back in describing what the club means to him. "Manchester United has always been my home," he said. "This special club means everything to my family. I have grown up seeing the impact our club has on our city, and I relish the responsibility of wearing this shirt."

United's director of football, Jason Wilcox, was equally effusive, describing Mainoo as one of the most naturally gifted young footballers in the world.
