Speaking exclusively to "Sharjah 24," Hussein Al Mahmoudi affirmed that SPARK is pleased to launch this meeting in collaboration with the European Union. He noted that the event addressed sustainability as a crucial theme that opens broad horizons for the private sector and supports research and scientific collaboration with universities and academic institutions. The event was attended by major companies, entrepreneurs, and local and regional universities, reflecting the importance of bringing together various stakeholders on a single platform to exchange experiences and explore initiatives capable of developing more sustainable business practices.
Al Mahmoudi added that the event falls within the framework of the cooperation project between the European Union and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries on green transformation. It focused on developing policies and business solutions related to the circular economy by encouraging resource reuse and waste reduction, rather than relying on traditional consumption models based on use-and-disposal.
The Executive Director of SPARK indicated that the Park aims, through this meeting, to launch new opportunities and initiatives in the fields of sustainability and the circular economy. This will enhance STARK role as a platform supporting research, development, and strategic partnerships, coinciding with its 10th anniversary.
