The fifth and largest graduating class since the university’s establishment includes 140 graduates from 23 countries, comprising 11 PhD and 129 Master’s graduates across key AI disciplines such as Computer Science, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Robotics.
The ceremony reflects the UAE’s commitment to artificial intelligence as a national strategic priority under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and is further advanced through initiatives led by H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, positioning the UAE as a global hub for AI research and talent.
Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulated graduates on their academic achievements and honoured PhD and Master’s recipients, wishing them success in contributing to the UAE’s digital transformation and innovation-driven economy.
The Class of 2026 includes 30 Emirati graduates, while women represent 38% of the cohort, highlighting MBZUAI’s role in empowering national talent and advancing global participation in AI and scientific research.
MBZUAI continues to support national goals by preparing graduates to contribute to the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031, including integration of AI across government services and priority sectors.
Khaldoon Al Mubarak and Professor Eric Xing emphasized the importance of building responsible, impactful AI that serves society, while underscoring MBZUAI’s role in producing global talent equipped to lead technological advancement.
The graduating class includes students from 23 countries and joins an alumni network of 318 professionals, with nearly 80% remaining in the UAE for employment, while others join leading global companies and top academic institutions such as Meta, Tesla, ADNOC, Caltech, and Carnegie Mellon University.
