Sharjah24- WAM: OpenAI has unveiled plans to introduce a mobile version of its coding assistant Codex, almost a year after incorporating the tool into the ChatGPT platform, enabling users to track and manage workflows remotely.
The new feature allows users to instantly access and preview Codex environments through any device running the application.
According to the company, the update is currently available in preview mode for all ChatGPT subscription tiers on iOS and Android devices.
In a statement, OpenAI explained that the feature offers more than basic remote task control or task submission. Users can oversee full workflows via mobile devices, review generated outputs, approve commands, switch between models, and launch new tasks directly from the app.
The mobile version also allows users to monitor progress through screenshots, terminal outputs, code changes, test results, and approval notifications, while files, credentials, permissions, and local tools remain stored on the connected device performing the tasks.
