Dibba Al-Hisn Bilateral Theatre Festival "9" kicks off on May 21

Sharjah 24: Maryam Saif Makhlouf, member of the organising committee for the Dibba Al-Hisn Bilateral Theatre Festival, announced the launch of the 9th edition of the festival, organised by the Theatre Department of the Department of Culture. The festival will run from Thursday, May 21 to May 25, at the Dibba Al-Hisn Cultural Centre, featuring five theatrical performances from various countries. The announcement was made during a press conference held Monday morning at the Palace of Culture.

His Excellency Abdullah Mohammed Al Owais, Head of the Department of Culture, attended the press conference announcing the 9th edition of the Dibba Al-Hisn Bilateral Theatre Festival. The conference, held on Monday morning at the Palace of Culture, revealed the festival's programme, which will take place from May 21 to 25 at the Dibba Al-Hisn Cultural Centre.

Leading Emirati troupes and productions

Maryam Saif Makhlouf, member of the organising committee for the Dibba Al-Hisn Bilateral Theatre Festival, stated that this year's festival will feature five distinguished theatrical productions by leading Emirati troupes and productions, in addition to broad Arab participation including Egypt, Tunisia, Syria, and Morocco.

Speaking exclusively to Sharjah 24, Makhlouf explained that the festival programme includes a diverse range of accompanying activities, most notably intellectual seminars, specialised workshops, and critical discussions, all within a cultural atmosphere that brings together artists, theatre professionals, and those interested in theatre from around the world.
