Sharjah24: The Regional UNESCO Conference on Early Childhood Care and Education successfully concluded in Sharjah, underscoring the vital importance of early childhood development and the urgent need to address challenges within the Arab region. Organised by the Multi-Sectoral UNESCO Office with support from the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, the conference aimed to foster cooperation and facilitate the exchange of experiences in the field of early childhood care and education.
Bringing together 14 nations, six international and regional organisations, and 27 experts in early childhood education, the conference centered its discussions on topics of diversity, equity, quality, and happiness in the field. The event served as a platform to highlight the fundamental rights of children and emphasised the significance of coordinated efforts to overcome challenges. It also recognised the crucial roles of parents, teachers, and women's empowerment in ensuring the well-being and development of children.

Government support emerged as a key theme, with the conference stressing the importance of implementing its recommendations in Arab nations. The efforts made to enhance childhood care and education were applauded, and gratitude was extended to the esteemed sponsors, including the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA), the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA), the Sharjah Academy for Education, the Federal Authority for Early Childhood Education, and the Sharjah Environment Friends Office.
