Sharjah 24: Al Thiqah Club for the Disabled in Sharjah recently organised a group Iftar, generously sponsored by Sharjah Islamic Bank (SIB), as part of its ongoing commitment to fostering solidarity and community engagement among its members and their families.
This special gathering brought together club members and their families, along with officials, parents, and volunteers, in an atmosphere of joy and unity that epitomised the spirit of cooperation and support during the holy month of Ramadan.

Among the distinguished guests attending the Iftar banquette were Ahmed Salem Al Mazloum Al Suwaidi, the Executive Director of Al Thiqah Club for the Disabled; Haider Taleb, a member of the club’s Board of Directors and Secretary-General of the World Disability Union; and Ishaq Al Obaidly from Sharjah Islamic Bank Public Relations. The event also saw the participation of over 200 individuals with disabilities and their families, creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with optimism.

Al Suwaidi emphasised the significance of such social gatherings in fostering communication and solidarity within society and promoting sustainable development for this important segment. He expressed gratitude to Sharjah Islamic Bank for their continuous support of the club’s initiatives, acknowledging their instrumental role in backing care and rehabilitation programmes for individuals with disabilities.

Ishaq Al Obaidly commended the club for its efforts in creating a supportive environment for the disabled, enabling them to actively participate in community life. He affirmed Sharjah Islamic Bank's commitment to supporting these admirable endeavours.

Participants expressed their joy and gratitude for the event and the support they received, expressing their hopes for more initiatives and programmes that strengthen communication and solidarity within society.
