Sharjah24: On Thursday, 12 December 2024, the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work (SAVW) will host a press conference to unveil the addition of three new award categories, bringing the total to 14. The initiative seeks to encourage volunteerism and foster social responsibility.
At 11:00 am at Sharjah Education Academy's Innovation Hall, the press conference will primarily focus on the new awards and updates for the 22nd award cycle. The event will serve as a platform for journalists and media representatives to interact with the organisers, pose questions, and delve into the strategic enhancements designed to amplify the award's impact.
The newly introduced award categories feature the Role Model Volunteer Award, aimed at recognising individuals who excel in volunteerism and stand out as exemplary figures in community service. Appropriate government and private organisations submit nominations.
The Best Neighbourhood Volunteerism Award recognizes neighbourhood councils in Sharjah and promotes community involvement in nurturing and enhancing volunteerism within local districts and areas.
The Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility Award targets private-sector organisations, ranging from startups to large companies, with the goal of promoting innovative social initiatives that improve community well-being and bolster CSR efforts.
