SM completes 85% of land grading work in Al Shanouf

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Municipality (SM) has announced the completion of 85% of the first phase of land grading in Al Shanouf 1-3, with ongoing efforts to finalise the project. This initiative aims to prepare the area for residential construction.

Thousands of Public Services Delivered

In 2024, the municipality carried out 11,572 public services for residents, government entities, and investors. These included grading, maintaining, and constructing dirt roads, clearing construction debris and agricultural waste, removing trees, maintaining public buildings and municipal parks, and providing logistical support for field operations.

Enhancing Infrastructure and Public Spaces

Eng. Faisal Al Mulla, Director of the Public Services Department, emphasised the municipality’s commitment to infrastructure development. Annual services include leveling sandy lots, maintaining internal gravel roads, supplying agricultural soil, backfilling low-lying areas, and preparing prayer spaces and parking areas during holidays.

Major Achievements in 2024

Graded 718,615 square metres of internal gravel roads.

Delivered over 33,000 truckloads of agricultural soil to support landscaping projects.

Supplied nearly 63,000 truckloads of agricultural soil to citizens to promote farming and expand green spaces.

Commitment to Green Initiatives

The municipality continues to encourage urban farming and environmental sustainability. The agricultural soil provided is rich in essential nutrients, ensuring the success of various crops and green spaces across the emirate.

Future Plans for Al Shanouf

Al Mulla reiterated that 85% of the first phase of land grading in Al Shanouf 1-3 has been completed, with efforts ongoing to finalise the project. The municipality aims to facilitate residential development, ensuring families can build homes that offer comfort, stability, and a strong foundation for future generations.
