Mleiha Municipality gears up for “Al Azm Trough”

Sharjah 24: Awad Saeed Hareb Al-Ketbi, Director of the Support Services and Follow-up Department at Mleiha Municipality, announced that the municipality has raised the preparedness of all field teams and equipment to handle the “Al Azm Troug” weather system currently affecting the country. Measures were activated starting Monday morning, March 23, to ensure the safety of citizens and residents and maintain smooth traffic flow.

Safety measures and priorities

Al-Ketbi emphasised that the municipality has taken all necessary precautions, highlighting that resident and citizen safety remains the top priority during the approaching weather event.

He expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his continuous support, which includes providing resources and advanced equipment that enhance rapid response and professional handling of weather conditions.

Al-Ketbi also acknowledged the directives of Musabeh Saif Awad Al Ketbi, Director of Mleiha Municipality, whose guidance ensured technical teams completed field preparations before the onset of the weather system, strengthening overall readiness.

The municipality has allocated emergency hotline 993 for 24/7 reporting. Residents are urged to take precautions, follow official instructions, and avoid wadis, muddy areas, and mountainous regions during the weather event.
