The event marked the end of a year-long programme under the Sports Professional School project, in which the foundation oversees physical education programmes in participating schools with the help of qualified female trainers.
The event featured various competitions and workshops in fencing, taekwondo, judo, archery, athletics, and table tennis. Each activity was designed to strengthen students’ technical performances, physical endurance, and discipline, while nurturing cooperation and sportsmanship. Educational sessions also introduced participants to the history, rules, and values of each sport, highlighting their role in building character and confidence.
Hanan Al Mahmoud, Vice Chairperson of the Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation, stated, "The Sports Professional School embodies our objective of transforming school sports into a true arena for learning and personal growth, rather than merely physical exercise. Every session helps to shape a confident and responsible generation capable of achieving in both academics and sports. This fourth gathering highlights the foundation's excellent cooperation with participating schools, which has resulted in substantial improvement in skill development and participation.
Al Yazia Al Suwaidi, Head of the Foundation's Preparation and Technical Follow-up Section, noted that the fourth gathering used an advanced, practice-based learning method that emphasised performance development and innovative thinking.
She said, “We noticed a clear advancement in technical execution and self-assurance among the students, which reflects the impact of our structured training programmes. As we conclude this year’s series of gatherings, we are preparing a comprehensive development plan for the coming year, focusing on refining each sport according to its nature and tailoring activities to every school stage. Our ultimate goal is to ensure continuous growth and to motivate girls to embrace sports as an essential part of their lifestyle.”
The event is part of the Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation's ongoing efforts to promote sports culture and raise awareness of its value in creating a healthy and active community. It reflects the vision of Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and chairperson of the foundation, to empower women through sport, instill values of perseverance and determination, and inspire future generations to take pride in representing their community and nation through athletic excellence.
