Sharjah 24 – WAM: President Lee Jae Myung of South Korea and UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi, celebrating decades of cooperation since 1980.

Deepening bilateral cooperation

Leaders highlighted expanding ties in energy, infrastructure, trade, defence, space, technology, health, agriculture, education, and culture, emphasising the strategic partnership established in 2018.

Key projects and milestones

Notable achievements include the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant, satellite collaborations like DubaiSat series and KhalifaSat testing, and joint space initiatives exemplified by the Etihad-SAT Radar Satellite.

Future strategic partnership

Both nations committed to strengthening their relationship through joint R&D, technology transfer, supply chain stability, and cooperation in AI, nuclear energy, defense, water, health, education, and cultural exchange.

Specific areas of collaboration

AI and Semiconductors: Developing joint AI data centers, responsible AI governance, and cybersecurity.

Nuclear Energy: Enhancing cooperation on fuel, safety, and expanding the 'Barakah model' globally.
