Sharjah 24: Emirati artist Mahra Al Falahi explained that her piece, The Radiant Gaze of the Garden of Light, draws inspiration from plants mentioned in the Holy Qur'an, including the palm, fig, pomegranate, and olive. She highlighted the significance of these plants due to their frequent mention in the Qur'anic text and their role as vital sources of nutrition.

Artistic technique and materials

In an interview with Sharjah 24, Al Falahi shared that plants absorb and reflect light during various stages of growth, from seed to blossom. She noted that the artwork is crafted from natural silk and is entirely hand-embroidered with machine-guided stitching, utilizing two types of thread. Some sections are cushioned with natural cotton to create contrast in light reflection and add depth to the piece.
