Sharjah24: The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a government delegation from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation and share expertise between the two parties. Dr Ahmed Saleh Al Echlah, Director of the Sharjah International Commercial Arbitration Centre, expressed his pleasure in welcoming the delegation and emphasised the importance of such visits in deepening institutional collaboration.

In statements to Sharjah24, Dr Al Echlah explained that the meeting provided a detailed overview of the Centre’s essential role and primary functions, emphasising its mechanisms for developing future partnerships and enhancing cooperation. He underscored the strategic importance of ongoing collaboration and knowledge exchange to better serve the business community and advance efficient dispute resolution practices.

Enhancing investment climate and economic exchange

Dr Al Echlah confirmed that the visit supports the Centre’s ongoing efforts to broaden its regional and international partnerships and to promote arbitration as an effective way of resolving commercial disputes. He highlighted that fostering a culture of arbitration helps create an attractive investment environment and facilitates economic exchange between the UAE and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. He concluded by thanking all attendees and wishing them continued success.
