The 60-hour programme included a series of technical workshops on propagation and planting methods, pruning techniques, red palm weevil control, core crop production principles, and smart fertilisation and irrigation systems. The curriculum was supported by field visits and practical activities designed to improve technical skills and introduce participants to modern agricultural practices.
The workshops were conducted by agricultural consultant Engineer Jumaa Mohammed Atta, who familiarised participants with the latest technologies and sustainable methodologies. His training focused on developing competence and adopting globally recognised standards to optimise agricultural operations.
Maryam Saif Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General for Support Services Sector at SCCI, stated that the programme demonstrates the Chamber’s commitment to supporting agriculture as a vital pillar of food security and resource sustainability. She highlighted that ongoing professional training remains key to enhancing production quality and boosting competitiveness across the sector.
Amal Abdullah Al Ali, Director of STDC, stated that the programme was designed to equip participants with practical knowledge and technical tools that directly enhance operational efficiency and foster greater productivity within agricultural institutions.
