Girona beat Sociedad 2-1 in La Liga clash

The Basque side started strongly, opening the scoring through Portuguese forward Gonçalo Guedes in the 35th minute.

The Catalan visitors turned the game around in the second half with a brace from Ukrainian striker Viktor Tsygankov, scoring in the 76th minute from Moroccan international Azdine Ounahi’s assist, and again in the 84th minute from Alex Moreno’s pass.

The win was Girona’s third of the season and first after two draws and a defeat, moving them to 15 points in 17th place. Sociedad suffered their third consecutive defeat, remaining on 16 points in 14th.

Round 16 continues Saturday with Atlético Madrid vs Valencia, Real Mallorca vs Elche, Barcelona vs Osasuna, and Getafe vs Espanyol.
