Sharjah24: WAM: Chile’s ultra-conservative former lawmaker Jose Antonio Kast secured victory in Sunday’s presidential election, defeating the centre-left candidate backed by the ruling coalition.
Kast won 58.2 percent of the votes, while his challenger, communist candidate Jeannette Jara, clinched 41.8 percent of the vote.
