Chilean President Gabriel Boric has declared a state of catastrophe in the central Biobío region and the neighbouring Ñuble region, located about 500 kilometres south of the capital, Santiago.
The fires have so far consumed nearly 8,500 hectares across the two regions, causing widespread damage and heightening the risk to surrounding communities.
Authorities have issued evacuation orders for multiple areas as emergency services continue efforts to contain the blazes and protect residents.
