This year, the award underwent a fundamental and comprehensive revision of its evaluation criteria, aiming to improve performance quality and boost the levels of innovation and sustainability within the emirate's real estate market.
These updates align with Sharjah's vision of establishing a more efficient and modern real estate system. The new criteria emphasise environmental sustainability by implementing energy and water conservation measures and adopting green building certifications, alongside fostering digital transformation through the use of smart systems, electronic property management platforms, and artificial intelligence applications in real estate services.
The developed criteria also include enhancing financial efficiency and operational sustainability, improving risk and safety management mechanisms through emergency plans and accredited safety certifications, as well as upgrading training and development programmes for real estate professionals and increasing customer satisfaction levels. The updates also involve strengthening transparency and disclosure standards in owners' associations through the publication of periodic reports and clear provision of information, alongside supporting corporate social responsibility and encouraging active participation in community initiatives by real estate development companies.
His Excellency Abdul Aziz Ahmed Al Shamsi, Director General of the Department, affirmed that the award has become a significant institutional milestone reflecting the Emirate's strategic vision in establishing the concepts of excellence and innovation, and in enhancing the sector's readiness to keep pace with rapid changes. He explained that the new cycle comes with a renewed spirit that responds to the requirements of the next phase and helps to raise the level of performance and increase the efficiency of services. He called on real estate companies and offices to actively participate and present inspiring examples of initiatives and practices that enhance the quality of work and foster a culture of quality and compliance.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Director of the Department’s Strategic Planning and Institutional Excellence Office, noted that the development of the award reflects the Department’s commitment to keeping pace with global best practices and adopting an advanced approach to evaluation, ensuring the highest levels of integrity and objectivity. He emphasised that the judging mechanism will be based on clear professional criteria grounded in reliability and accuracy, guaranteeing recognition for entities that have made a real impact and contributed effectively to supporting the sustainability and competitiveness of the real estate sector.
The new edition of the award covers four main categories: real estate offices, real estate development companies, owners’ association boards, and management supervision service companies. This aims to ensure the evaluation is comprehensive and relevant to the various components of the real estate market in the Emirate. The Department also encouraged applicants to adhere to the participation requirements and submit supporting materials that enhance the chances of an objective and fair evaluation.
The award results will be announced, and the winners will be honored in April 2026 at an official ceremony organised by the Department to celebrate entities that have achieved advanced levels of performance, accomplishment, and innovation.
