Sharjah24-WAM: The UAE Search and Rescue Team has concluded its participation in the Africa, Europe, and Middle East Earthquake Response Exercise (AEME ERE) 2025, hosted by the Republic of South Africa, involving several international search and rescue teams.

The large-scale exercise aimed to enhance emergency response readiness and develop advanced field skills for teams working in diverse environments.

Advancing emergency response through global cooperation

The UAE’s participation demonstrates the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority’s dedication to improving its emergency response system by exchanging expertise with international partners and adopting global best practices in search and rescue operations. The exercise involved complex rescue scenarios that allowed participating teams to enhance operational skills, improve incident site management, and increase their overall efficiency.

The authority observed that the joint exercise improved coordination among teams during field operations, emphasising the importance of unified efforts in crisis situations.
