The closing night featured the play “Jamar Al-Ghadda”, written by Faisal Jawad, directed by Abdulrahman Al Mulla, and performed by the Kalba Folk Arts and Theatre Association. The performance presented a realistic human drama where genuine love intersects with envy and jealousy.
The cast included a distinguished group of actors, including: Jumaa Ali, Faisal Al Darmaki, Amal Mohammed, Abeer Al Jasmi, Shaaban Sbeit, Mohammed Jumaa, Khulood Al Badiwi, Adel Sbeit, Fawzia Ma’rouf, Samia Tasfarout, and Johar Al Matroushi.
During the critical discussion that followed the performance, moderated by researcher Wafaa Al Shamsi from Oman, participants praised the artistic level of the play and the notable youth presence within the cast, highlighting the quality of the text and the depth of the directorial vision, which harmonised with the unique setting of the desert theatre.
Organised by the Department of Culture, the festival began on 12 December and featured six theatrical performances from the UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Egypt, and Libya, alongside a diverse intellectual and critical programme, competitions, and interactive activities that attracted a wide audience.
