He said that the House is keen to organise the “Art of Poetry and Prosody” workshop annually due to its importance in revisiting this field for learners, including university professors, school students, postgraduate students, poetry enthusiasts, and poets, noting that this is the seventeenth edition of the workshop.
He added in statements to “Sharjah 24” that the workshop discusses a range of topics related to the techniques of poetry, including imagery, imagination, symbolism, and meanings, as well as free verse techniques, prosody, and matters related to metre and rhyme, among others. The workshop is free of charge and delivered by a group of specialists.
He also explained that the House of Poetry is organising a poetry evening alongside the workshop as part of the Tuesday Forum, with the participation of Syed Ahmed Al Alawi from the Kingdom of Bahrain, Omani poet Abdullah Saeed Al Dhahli, and Ismail Duwa from Syria, who present a collection of poems focusing on humanity, identity, and love of the homeland.
