Haitham bin Saqr attends session at Kalba Literary Council

Sharjah 24: Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Sharjah Ruler’s Office in Kalba, attended a dialogue session by the poet Rashid Sharar, held at Kalba Literary Council and organised by the Department of Culture in the Eastern Region.

The event witnessed the attendance of Rashid Mohammed Al Zaabi, Director of the Eastern Region Department at the Department of Culture, along with a number of officials, poets and fans of Nabati poetry.

Media figure Abdullah Ahmed reviewed the career of the poet, who began his poetic journey in the 1980s and is known for his media work and presenting television and radio programmes specialising in culture and Nabati poetry, most notably “Majalis Al Shu’ara” on Dubai TV, in addition to holding important cultural leadership positions.

Memories and experiences in cultural pathways

For his part, the poet Sharar, during the session, spoke about the attention given by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to poetry, as well as his memories and experiences in cultural fields and his participation in poetry sessions, and the Nabati poems he has presented, reciting verses expressing love and loyalty to the wise leadership.

At the end of the session, Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi honoured the poet Rashid Sharar.
