Hamdan bin Zayed attends group wedding in Al Dhafra

Sharjah 24 – WAM: Under the patronage of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region, attended a group wedding for 86 grooms from the Al Dhafra Region at Al Dhafra Fort.

Supporting family and social cohesion

During the ceremony, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan reaffirmed the UAE leadership’s continued support for citizens in building cohesive families, which form the foundation of a stable and prosperous society.

Celebrating Emirati family values

The mass wedding aligns with the objectives of the UAE’s Year of the Family 2026 and highlights authentic Emirati family values and their vital role in strengthening social bonds.

Organisers and partners

The initiative was organised by Abu Dhabi Majalis in coordination with the Ruler’s Representative Court in Al Dhafra Region, the Department of Community Development’s Medeem initiative, and ADNOC. The Medeem initiative encourages young Emiratis to adopt traditional values, plan simpler and more affordable weddings, and prepare responsibly for married life.

Heritage performances and activities

The celebration featured a range of traditional activities and heritage performances, including folk chants, cultural arts displays, poetry recitals, and an aerial show.
