Sharjah 24 – WAM: His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, met with a delegation from the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, led by Dr Abdulla Humaid Al Jarwan, to review the main strategic energy and water projects in the region.

Strategic plans for enhanced services

The meeting covered the Department’s strategic directions, priorities, and plans for the next phase, focusing on improving the efficiency of energy and water services and ensuring operational readiness to meet population and development growth. The plans aim to support resource sustainability and enhance service quality for individuals, businesses, and companies.

Development and coordination in the sector

Sheikh Hamdan was briefed on development plans for the energy and water sector, emphasizing the importance of coordinated efforts among all relevant entities to improve long-term service efficiency, in line with best practices and approved standards.

Commending innovation and sustainability initiatives

He praised the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy for adopting advanced solutions to manage energy and water services, enhance operational efficiency, and keep pace with technological transformation, aligning with the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to promote sustainability and efficient resource use.

Future readiness and smart solutions

Sheikh Hamdan stressed the need to strengthen future readiness in the energy and water sectors through flexible operating models, expanded use of smart technologies, and support for a knowledge-based economy, balancing development needs with resource protection under the UAE Energy Strategy 2050.
