The project reflects His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s vision to support coastal development, enhance service quality and strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading maritime destination.
Developed through a strategic partnership among Integrated Transport Centre Abu Dhabi Mobility, AD Ports Group and Abu Dhabi Maritime, the port is part of ongoing efforts to advance sustainable maritime infrastructure in the emirate.
His Highness reviewed the project’s development phases with Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, highlighting its role in supporting sustainable coastal development and enhancing the efficiency of maritime facilities in line with global standards.
The port features a modern ferry terminal with a 425-square-metre passenger building that accommodates 78 seats, serving Dalma Island. It also includes a marina with 16 berths, 99 dry boat storage spaces, maintenance workshops, a 15-metre slipway, 205 parking spaces, and dedicated areas for recreational vehicles.
Designed to offer panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf and nearby Sir Bani Yas Island, the port combines leisure and community functions, with restaurants, recreational areas and facilities for visitors.
As a model of sustainable infrastructure, the port is equipped with 168 solar panels covering the parking areas, generating around 80% of its energy needs. Shore power technology reduces carbon emissions by approximately 500 tonnes annually, and 14 electric vehicle charging stations support sustainable mobility.
Dr Abdullah Hamad Al Ghafli said the project reinforces Abu Dhabi’s position as a global maritime hub, supporting tourism, transport connectivity and coastal communities.
