Sharjah 24 – AFP: Real Madrid has announced the loan of Brazilian striker Andrek to French club Lyon until the end of the season. The agreement is a paid loan, aimed at giving the 19-year-old more playing time, as he has struggled to secure minutes with the Royal Club.

Andrek’s career and international experience

Andrek, a left-footed center forward, has 14 caps for Brazil, scoring three goals. His last international goal came in June of last year, and he has made only one appearance for the national team in 2025.

Preparing for the 2026 World Cup

With the 2026 World Cup approaching, Andrek hopes to regain form and secure a spot in the Brazilian squad under coach Carlo Ancelotti. Having joined Real Madrid from Palmeiras in 2014, he has played only 11 minutes in La Liga this season.

Loan details and Lyon’s plans

The loan deal includes a maximum transfer fee of one million euros. Andrek is expected to arrive in Lyon on December 29 to begin training, as the French club looks to strengthen its attacking options for the second half of the season.
