Bayern Munich secured a place in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals after defeating Real Madrid 4–3 in the second leg of the quarter-finals, setting up a clash with defending champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Colombian Luis Díaz scored the equaliser (3–3) in the 89th minute—enough to ensure qualification following Bayern’s 2–1 first-leg win in Madrid. Frenchman Michael Olise then sealed the result in stoppage time (90+4), after earlier goals from England’s Harry Kane (38) and Aleksandar Pavlović (6).
Real Madrid responded with three goals from Turkey’s Arda Güler (1 and 29) and France’s Kylian Mbappé (42). However, the Spanish side suffered two red cards, with Eduardo Camavinga sent off in the 86th minute and Güler dismissed in the 90+5 minute.
The Bavarian side confirmed their dominance at the Allianz Arena, where they have lost only once in their last 29 Champions League matches (23 wins and 5 draws), including this game. The victory also marked Bayern’s second consecutive win over Real Madrid after eight matches without a victory.
Meanwhile, the Spanish capital club suffered another blow, having already fallen nine points behind league leaders FC Barcelona in La Liga—the only remaining competition in which they are still contending for the title.
