Al Hamriyah Club held an official press conference last Monday. During the event, Humaid Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Club’s Board of Directors, expressed his gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi for his patronage of the championship.
Al Shamsi highlighted that hosting the continental event reflects the ongoing development of the UAE’s sailing sports ecosystem. This includes the club’s accreditation as an international training center and its history of hosting Arab and international championships and training camps.
Al Shamsi praised the collaboration with the UAE Sailing and Modern Rowing Federation, Sharjah Sports Council, and Al Hamriyah Municipality, as well as sponsors “Ajmal Makan” and “Asas Steel.”
Mohammed Al Obaidli, Secretary-General of the UAE Sailing and Modern Rowing Federation, described the championship as a key milestone, being the first continental event after a six-year pause due to COVID-19. He emphasised the confidence the Asian Sailing Federation places in the UAE and Al Hamriyah Club to organise the event to the highest technical and organisational standards.
