SIH, Qatar National Library explore prospects for cooperation

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH) welcomed a group from the Qatar National Library to its headquarters on Thursday morning. This visit is part of efforts to enhance cultural and educational cooperation between the two organizations. The parties are looking to discover future partnership opportunities that would benefit both institutions in shared areas of interest.

Cultural partnerships

In the meeting, we talked about how we can work together in the future and explored opportunities for collaboration in different areas. The goal was to improve how both sides share and use knowledge.

Institute's experience and initiatives

Abubaker Al Kindi, the Director of the SIH, shared that the team from the Qatar National Library was eager to find out more about SIH. They were particularly interested in its focus areas and the various services it offers to protect and share cultural heritage for future generations. In response, the Institute highlighted its innovative programs and scientific and cultural efforts.

Broad horizons for cooperation

Al Kindi explained that the meeting resulted in a preliminary agreement to establish channels of cooperation between the two sides, encompassing books, cultural content, publications, mutual training, and the exchange of expertise. This will help both institutions achieve their goals and enhance their cultural presence at the regional and international levels. At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of continued communication and coordination, and working to transform these visions into practical programs and projects that serve culture and knowledge, and reflect the status of the two institutions and their role in supporting heritage and cultural identity.
