UAE President confers Order of Zayed on Albanian Prime Minister

Sharjah 24 – WAM: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan conferred the Order of Zayed, the UAE’s highest civilian honour, on His Excellency Edi Rama, Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, in recognition of his efforts to strengthen UAE-Albania cooperation.

Presentation of the honour
The award was presented during a reception at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, coinciding with Prime Minister Rama’s visit to participate in Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026.

Strengthening ties and shared goals
Prime Minister Rama thanked UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the warm welcome and expressed pride at receiving the Order of Zayed, noting that it reflects the strong friendship and mutual respect between the two nations.

Discussions on cooperation and sustainability
The leaders explored opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economy, investment, and sustainability, and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing these ties in key development sectors.

They also discussed the importance of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week in promoting international cooperation and raising awareness of global sustainability challenges.
