Sharjah24: The eighth edition of the Arab Women Sports Tournament will witness the launch of its new official audio identity titled “Ladies of the Arabs”, performed by artist Hussain Al Jassmi, composed by Fayez Al Saeed, and written by poet Dr Abdul Salam Al Hammadi. The launch will take place during the opening ceremony at Al Majaz Theatre on 2 February.
The audio identity is released under the patronage of the Media Office of the Sharjah Family and Community Council and supervised by the Sharjah Women Sports Foundation, organiser of the tournament.

A creative collaboration celebrating Arab women athletes
The work represents a collective artistic initiative reflecting commitment to the tournament’s message and enhancing its cultural and media presence. It embodies support for Arab women’s sport and is the result of a shared creative effort by talents from Sharjah, presented as a tribute to “Ladies of the Arabs” and rooted in the belief that promoting the Arab Women Games 2026 is a shared responsibility.

An audio identity capturing the spirit of competition
Moza Al Shamsi, Director of the Arab Women Sports Tournament, said music has always been an integral part of the sporting experience, accompanying moments of challenge and intensifying emotions. She noted that the audio identity serves as an emotional bridge connecting audiences to the event and transforming competition into a lasting memory.

She added that the audio identity expands engagement with the tournament, reaches new segments of society through a shared artistic language, and ensures a lasting presence that reflects the tournament’s distinguished status.

Hussain Al Jassmi: pride in supporting women’s sport
Hussain Al Jassmi expressed pride in performing the official audio identity, having contributed to the first audio identity when the tournament launched in 2012. He said the work is a tribute supported by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA), who inspires women to pursue their sporting ambitions.

He highlighted the positive impact female athletes have on their communities and affirmed that supporting women’s sport is a personal and national responsibility, extending across the UAE and the wider Arab world.

Music and lyrics inspired by ambition and unity
Composer Fayez Al Saeed said the composition was designed to match the intensity of sporting competition, energise stadiums and motivate audiences. He emphasised that music in sports is a core part of the experience, creating unforgettable moments.

Poet Dr Abdul Salam Al Hammadi explained that the lyrics were inspired by the spirit of the tournament and its values of determination, belonging, hospitality, unity and mutual respect, noting that Sheikha Jawaher’s patronage played a key role in shaping the text.

Sharjah’s integrated sporting and cultural vision
The launch of the audio identity marks a new artistic and media milestone for the Arab Women Sports Tournament, reaffirming its status as one of the region’s leading women’s sporting events. It also reflects Sharjah’s commitment to integrating sport, culture and creativity while strengthening the presence of Arab women on the regional and international sporting stage.

The eighth edition of the Arab Women Sports Tournament will be held in Sharjah from 2 to 12 February, featuring 63 teams competing across nine sports, with participation continuing to grow since the tournament’s inception.
