Sharjah24: Sharjah Sports Club champions dominated the second round of the UAE Karate Cup, claiming 9 of the 10 trophies at the tournament held at the club’s sports hall in Al Khuzama. The club’s kata team won all five trophies on offer, taking the men’s, youth, under-21, juniors, and cadets titles, demonstrating complete mastery in the discipline. In kumite, Sharjah champions secured four out of five trophies, winning the cadets, juniors, youth, and under-21 categories. The men’s category trophy will be decided in the final round.

Record medal haul highlights club’s supremacy
Sharjah Karate athletes set a new record with 99 medals—41 gold, 30 silver, and 28 bronze—far ahead of the nearest competitor with 22 medals.
Eng. Suleiman Abdulrahman Al Hajri, Board Member and Head of Individual Sports, congratulated the team, praising the efforts of players and the technical and administrative staff. He noted the club’s continued commitment to supporting karate teams to achieve results and encouraged players to build on this success in upcoming competitions.

The awards ceremony was attended by Eng. Suleiman Abdulrahman Al Hajri, Mohamed Harbouk Al Shehi, Board Member and CFO of the UAE Karate Federation, and Ibrahim Mohamed Al Nuaimi, Board Member and Head of the Competitions Committee at the Federation.
