SBA explores cooperation with Archives House

The delegation was received by Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director General of the Authority, and Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, alongside several directors of sectors, channels and departments within the Authority.

Advancing documentation and archiving practices

During the visit, both sides held a joint meeting to review topics aimed at improving documentation processes and enhancing the efficiency of records management. They also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation, exchange expertise to support professional development, and adopt the latest technological solutions in the field.

The delegation later toured the Authority’s facilities and reviewed the advanced infrastructure, services and equipment that demonstrate the Authority’s commitment to implementing international best practices for preserving and protecting documents.

Integrated electronic archiving system

The visitors were introduced to the Authority’s electronic archiving system and the mechanisms used to preserve media materials in various formats, from tape cleaning and preparation to the digitisation and cataloguing of content within an integrated digital system designed to preserve media heritage and facilitate access to it.

The delegation also received a briefing on the progress of the Authority’s electronic archiving project, a key priority.

Both sides emphasised the importance of continuing cooperation and exchanging expertise in archiving and document management to support digital transformation and preserve documentary and media content.

Representing the Archives House were Noura Ibrahim Al Hajri, Director of the Secretariat of the Documents Department; Alia Obaid Al Salman, Deputy Director of the Documents Department; Amna Waleed Dimas, Head of the Documents Organisation Section; Nasser Badr Al Naqbi, Head of the Documents Collection Section; Ahmed Rashid bin Talai’a, Head of the Digital Documents Section; and Ahmed Ibrahim Al Jassmi, Documents Collection Officer.
