Sharjah 24: Sharjah Taxi announced that it transported more than 9.31 million passengers in 2025, marking a growth of over 25% compared to 2024. This included 917,000 passengers who booked through the smart app “Yango”, and 760,000 passengers served across the Eastern and Central regions.

Growth reflects public confidence in services

Khalid Al Kindi, Managing Director of Sharjah Taxi, said the figures demonstrate rising demand and public trust in the quality of the service. He emphasised that the company is committed to continuously developing the transport ecosystem and improving service standards to provide a distinguished experience for users.

Transition to environmentally friendly fleet

Al Kindi highlighted the introduction of hybrid vehicles that run on both fuel and electricity as part of a broader plan to reduce emissions and promote sustainable transportation in Sharjah. Sharjah Taxi aims to convert 100% of its fleet to hybrid vehicles by 2027, aligning with Sharjah’s environmental strategy under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

Comprehensive transport services

Sharjah Taxi offers a wide range of services including city and airport taxis, women-only taxis, family taxis, luxury limousine services, school transport (Rafaq), services for people with disabilities, and regional taxi services in the Eastern and Central areas.
