AUS hosts regional systems engineering student conference

Sharjah24: Dr Abdulrahim Shamaileh, Head of the Industrial Engineering Department at the American University of Sharjah (AUS), announced the launch of the Regional Student Conference of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers, hosted on the university’s Sharjah campus under the theme “Today’s readiness… tomorrow’s leadership”.

The event brings together students, experts and specialists to discuss the latest developments in industrial and systems engineering, assess the readiness of young talent, and examine labour market needs and emerging trends in the field.

In remarks to Sharjah 24, Dr Shamaileh said the conference keeps pace with rapid transformations across sectors by exploring the use of artificial intelligence to create value, improve processes and enhance system and service excellence. It also highlights smart mobility and advanced systems to strengthen youth preparedness and practical impact.

He added that this edition is significant as it covers participants from the UAE and GCC countries, offering students opportunities for knowledge exchange with experts, professional development, and the strengthening of research, technical communication, leadership and teamwork skills.
