Sharjah had already taken the advantage in the first leg of the final on 14 February, edging Khorfakkan 64–59 in a tightly contested match marked by tactical discipline and composure in decisive moments.
The two-legged final reflected the competitive standard between the season’s top two teams, with both matches characterised by high tempo, defensive organisation, and collective execution, underlining the continued development of women’s basketball in the emirate.
Ziad Al Nattour, head coach of Sharjah Women Sports Club, said the title was the result of consistent effort and commitment throughout the season.
He noted that every training session and difficult match contributed to a continuous process of building that culminated in the final, which demanded high concentration and precise management of detail. He added that the players handled the pressure with strong team spirit and maturity in executing the game plan, particularly in the closing stages.
Al Nattour thanked the technical and administrative staff for their behind-the-scenes preparation, emphasising that championships are decided by fine margins. He described the title as an important achievement and a responsibility to maintain performance levels in future seasons.
For her part, Fatima Zagrooba, head coach of Khorfakkan Women’s Sports Club, said the team had delivered a commendable season.
She explained that reaching the final and competing at such a level against the league leaders reflected the progress made throughout the season. The players showed strong determination in both matches, particularly in the closely fought first leg, and the team will build on the experience with greater confidence in the coming seasons.
