Participating in the championship alongside Sharjah Women's Sports Club were Fujairah Martial Arts Club, Abu Dhabi Archery Club, D Archers Club, and Mushrif Academy. Sharjah's archers excelled in the qualifying and final rounds across various categories.
In the May 16th competitions, the age-group archers shone brightly. Alia Faisal Al Sharaa won gold in the under-12 recurve bow event, followed by Fatima Yousef with the silver medal, while Salama Al Ali came in third, giving Sharjah Women's Sports Club a clean sweep of the podium in this category.
Shamma Jassim Al Kaabi also won gold in the under-15 recurve bow event, Shahd Jawhar added the bronze medal, and Maha Thamer Al Shamsi secured silver in the under-15 compound bow event.
At the team level, the club continued its strong performance, securing two gold medals in recurve archery for the under-12 and under-15 categories. The teams showcased impressive technical harmony and clear development across all age groups. The first team comprised Alia Faisal Al Shara, Salama Al Ali, and Elma Sejri, while the second team consisted of Shamma Al Kaabi, Shahd Jawhar, and Cambria Patiño.
In this context, Zakhar Tagayeva, the archery coach at Sharjah Women's Sports Club, pointed out that indoor competitions differ from outdoor tournaments, as they reveal subtle technical differences between archers more clearly, due to the absence of weather and other external factors.
Tagayeva added, "In indoor tournaments, small details make a bigger difference, as the competition depends almost entirely on the quality of execution and mental stability throughout the rounds. The archers demonstrated a good level of focus and discipline, and we saw important positive aspects that we will continue to build upon in the next stage."
The first week of the championship, held on May 9th and 10th, also saw outstanding results for Sharjah's archers in the qualifying and final rounds.
In the qualifying rounds, the under-18 recurve archers excelled, with Mariam Abdullah finishing second and Amna Al Hammadi third. In the women's recurve archery category, Snehal Divakar continued her impressive performance, securing first place, followed by Hessa Al Awadhi in second.
In compound bow, Marwa Salman Al Balushi claimed first place in the under-18 category, while Sharjah's archers demonstrated clear dominance in the under-21 category, with Sarah Al Mazmi taking first place and Maitha Al Nuaimi finishing second. Amna Al Awadhi continued her success, securing first place in the women's category.
On the second day of competition, Sharjah's archers won nine individual medals: three gold, four silver, and two bronze. In the women's recurve bow competition, Hessa Al Awadhi won the gold medal, while Snehal Divakar took second place. In the women's compound bow competition, Amna Al Awadhi continued her dominance, securing the gold medal.
Sarah Al Mazmi also shone, winning gold in the under-21 compound bow category, followed by Maitha Al Nuaimi with the silver medal. Marwa Salman earned silver in the under-18 compound bow category. In the under-18 recurve bow competition, Wadad Al Zarouni won the silver medal, and Mariam Abdullah took the bronze. Aisha Iftikhar secured the bronze medal in the under-21 category.
In the team competitions, Sharjah Women's Sports Club won the gold medal in the women's compound bow competition with the trio of Hessa Al Awadhi, Aisha Iftikhar, and Snehal Divakar. They also won three silver medals in the team competitions, one each in the under-18 recurve bow and the under-21/18 compound bow categories.
For her part, Mai Al Ameri, Deputy Director of Sharjah Women's Sports Club, affirmed that the results achieved in the championship reflect the development of the club's technical work and the ongoing development across all age groups. She noted that the diversity of podium finishes among the age groups and the women's team reflects the expanding base of players and the team's ability to maintain its competitive presence.
She added, "What we see today is the result of continuous, cumulative work in preparation and development, both technically and mentally. What's most important to us is that the players maintain this gradual progress and that each participation adds value, supporting their readiness for upcoming events."
