Sharjah 24: During a press conference held in Abu Dhabi, the organising committee for the Golden Jubilee celebrations commemorating the 50th anniversary of the unification of the armed forces revealed details of the programme marking 50 years since the unification decision issued in 1976.

The committee outlined the strategic messages and accompanying media plan, emphasising that the occasion is a pivotal national milestone that has strengthened the Union's progress and the role of the armed forces in safeguarding achievements and supporting development.

The committee also highlighted the importance of the unification process and the role of the armed forces in protecting national gains and supporting development.

 

On the occasion of the approaching anniversary of the 50th anniversary of the unification of the armed forces, which falls on May 6th each year, the organising committee for the Golden Jubilee celebrations held on Monday a press conference at the Erth Hotel in Abu Dhabi. Representatives from various media outlets and offices were present, as part of the preparations to commemorate fifty years since the decision to unify the Armed Forces, issued on May 6, 1976.

 

His Excellency Ali Abdullah Al Ahmad, Assistant Undersecretary for Defence Policy and Communication and Chairman of the Organising Committee, reviewed the strategic messages of the celebration, emphasising that this national occasion represents a pivotal moment in the Union's journey. He stated that it contributed to establishing a unified federal military system that has strengthened security and stability, supported comprehensive development, and solidified the UAE's regional and international standing.

 

Media plan

 

During the conference, Brigadier General Qais Rashid Al Dhaheri, Head of the Executive Department of Defence Communication and Vice Chairman of the Organising Committee, presented the media plan accompanying the celebration. This plan includes a number of events and activities aimed at highlighting the historical and strategic significance of the unification decision, enhancing national awareness of the armed forces' role in protecting national achievements, supporting the nation's development and progress, and contributing to humanitarian and relief efforts.

 

Drawing inspiration from the values of unity and cohesion

 

The conference concluded by emphasising that the anniversary of the 50th anniversary of the unification of the armed forces represents a renewed national occasion to draw inspiration from the values of unity and cohesion, and to reaffirm the commitment to continuing the journey of service and safeguarding the nation's security and stability.
