Sharjah24-WAM: The United Arab Emirates has announced a further US$1.2 billion in support of Gaza through the Board of Peace.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, made the announcement during his participation in the first meeting of the Board of Peace held in Washington, chaired and convened by Donald Trump.

International effort to support peace and reconstruction

The meeting brought together heads of state, senior officials, and international decision-makers as part of coordinated efforts to activate peace frameworks, support reconstruction pathways, and develop sustainable approaches that enhance long-term stability in the region.

Sheikh Abdullah’s participation came at the start of a working visit to the United States, reflecting the depth of the strategic partnership between the UAE and the US and their shared commitment to strengthening international efforts aimed at consolidating regional security and stability.

Ramadan message of peace and coexistence

In his address, His Highness thanked President Trump for convening the meeting, expressing hope that the beginning of Ramadan would guide all towards peace, coexistence, and prosperity.

He recalled the launch of the Abraham Accords more than five years ago by President Trump, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the Prime Minister of Israel, noting that since then, the UAE has worked to support a better future for the region. He added that since the outbreak of the Gaza conflict, the UAE has provided nearly US$3 billion in assistance to the Palestinian people.

Sheikh Abdullah then announced the additional US$1.2 billion contribution through the Board of Peace, expressing appreciation for international partners involved in the initiative and for US efforts in bringing regional leaders together to help end the war.

He concluded by wishing President Trump success during the holy month of Ramadan.

UAE delegation

Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and Yousef Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States, attended the meeting alongside His Highness.
