The adoption agreement was signed by Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Archives, and Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council.

The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Salah Salem Al Mahmoud, Director General of the Archives, along with several directors and officials from both entities, underscoring the importance of this strategic collaboration.

Strengthening governance and institutional excellence

The Chairman of the Sharjah Archives praised the efforts of the Sharjah Sports Council team throughout the system’s development and implementation phases. He emphasised that this partnership reflects the Council’s strong commitment to enhancing governance standards and institutional organisation.

He noted that implementing the document management system represents a fundamental milestone in supporting institutional development and digital transformation. The system enhances administrative and organisational efficiency while ensuring the preservation of the Emirate’s sports history, documenting its achievements and initiatives for future generations.

Supporting digital transformation in the sports sector

The newly adopted system plays a vital role in ensuring the continuity of efficient and high-quality administrative operations. It applies structured classification plans and retention schedules tailored specifically to sports and organisational documentation.

By organising documents under clear and systematic classifications, the system facilitates quick access to information, accelerates decision-making processes, and strengthens strategic planning efforts within the sports sector. Ultimately, this initiative contributes to enhancing Sharjah’s competitiveness, sustainability, and leadership in sports and community development.

A model of institutional collaboration

For his part, the Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council commended the Sharjah Archives for its leading role in documentation at the Emirate level. He highlighted the specialised services and technical expertise provided by the Archives’ teams during the system’s development stages.

This collaboration stands as a model of institutional integration, reinforcing Sharjah’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainable development across sectors.
