The tournament was staged at the Al Madam Club and brought together 50 archers representing six clubs: Al Madam, Al Hamriyah, Mleiha, Al Bataeh, Dibba Al Hisn, and Sharjah Sports Club.
The event was supervised by the Sports Affairs and Development Department at the council in cooperation with the UAE Archery Federation.
The prize ceremony was attended by Jassim Al Dokhi, Head of Individual Sports at the department; Dr Mohammed Bin Jarsh, Executive Director of Al Madam Club; Dr Mahmoud Naseem, the club’s activities supervisor; and Al Waleed Bin Mohammed Al Mashhoot from the Sports Affairs and Development Department.
Results at a glance
Al Madam dominated most of the categories, taking first place in the men’s Olympic recurve and men’s compound divisions, as well as the under-18 compound, under-15 Olympic recurve, and under-12 Olympic recurve events.
Al Hamriyah secured several runner-up finishes across the junior categories, while Mleiha also reached the podium and claimed victory in the under-15 compound event.
The competition featured eight individual divisions covering Olympic recurves, which are a type of bow used in the Olympics, and compound bows, which use a system of pulleys to make them easier to draw, across men’s, under-18, under-15, and under-12 categories.
